We gather teak leaves slowly, by hand, from the village trees.
Not the perfect ones…
the ones marked by sun, by time, by the season they’ve lived through.
Each leaf is placed gently onto the chiffon
no pattern, no plan… just feeling into where it wants to rest.
The silk is then rolled, bound with cotton string,
and left to steam for hours.
What happens inside… we don’t fully control.
When it’s unwrapped, the leaves have left their imprint
and return back to the earth where they came from.
What remains is a trace.
A memory of the plant, held in silk.
